1. Introduction

Welcome to CourtMaster ("we", "us", "the App").

CourtMaster is a mobile and web application that allows players to record tennis matches, track performance, view rankings, and compare ratings within their clubs using an ELO-based rating system.

By creating an account or using CourtMaster, you ("you", "User") agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms").

If you do not agree, please do not use CourtMaster.

2. Eligibility — 18+ Only

CourtMaster is available exclusively to individuals aged 18 or older.

We do not knowingly collect or process data from individuals under 18.
If we discover that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete the account and all associated data.

3. Description of Service

CourtMaster provides the following functionality:

  • Logging of tennis match results (singles and doubles)
  • Automatic calculation of player ratings using the ELO rating algorithm
  • Club-wide and division-based leaderboards
  • Player profiles, match history, performance analytics
  • Data storage, backup, and secure access to user accounts
  • Communication of updates, notifications, and service-related announcements

We may update or modify features at any time.

4. Account Registration & User Responsibilities

To use CourtMaster, you must:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Maintain only one active user account
  • Keep login credentials secure and confidential
  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Respect other users and avoid abusive, defamatory, or inappropriate content

You agree not to:

  • Impersonate another person
  • Submit fraudulent match results
  • Attempt to manipulate ratings
  • Reverse-engineer or interfere with the App or its systems
  • Harass, insult, or intimidate other users

5. User-Generated Content (Match Results, Names, Photos, etc.)

When you submit match results, player names, photos, or any other content ("User Content"):

  • You retain ownership of your User Content
  • You grant CourtMaster a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and use your content solely for providing and improving the App
  • You confirm that all content you submit is accurate and does not violate any third-party rights

You are responsible for ensuring:

  • Results are truthful
  • Opponent names and data are correct
  • You have the right to share any content you upload

We reserve the right to remove or modify any User Content that violates these Terms.

6. Match Verification & Disputes

To maintain fairness, CourtMaster uses a match verification system:

  • A match is only final when both participants confirm the result
  • If there is a disagreement, the match remains unverified and does not impact ratings
  • Users may report incorrect or fraudulent results

Dispute Resolution Process

If users disagree about a result:

  • The match remains pending and uncounted
  • CourtMaster may request clarifying information
  • CourtMaster may cancel the match if evidence is insufficient
  • CourtMaster's decision is final

CourtMaster is not liable for disputes between players or for the accuracy of user-submitted results.

7. ELO-Based Rating System (Automated Processing Disclosure)

CourtMaster uses an automated ELO rating algorithm to compute player skill levels.

By using the App, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Ratings are calculated automatically
  • Ratings and rankings may affect your standing within your club
  • Ratings depend on match results, opponent strength, and statistical probability
  • You can request an explanation of how your rating is determined

CourtMaster does not make decisions that produce legal or significant effects beyond rankings and player comparisons.

8. Data Storage, Third-Party Providers & International Transfers

CourtMaster uses trusted third-party providers (e.g., Firebase, cloud services, analytics tools) to:

  • Store account data
  • Maintain match records
  • Ensure secure authentication
  • Provide crash reporting and analytics

Data may be processed in the EU, UK, US, or other jurisdictions.

Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards.

You agree to such transfers for the purpose of providing the service.

9. Prohibited Behavior

You may NOT:

  • Submit falsified match results
  • Attempt to artificially manipulate ratings
  • Create fake accounts
  • Upload harmful or malicious files
  • Interfere with the App or its servers
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts
  • Use the App for commercial solicitation without permission

Violation may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

10. Service Availability & Changes

We aim to provide continuous access but do not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted availability
  • no errors, bugs, or downtime
  • 100% accuracy of data or metrics

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

11. Data Deletion & Account Termination

You may:

  • Delete your account at any time
  • Request deletion of all personal data

We may terminate or suspend accounts when users:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent behavior
  • Create security risks
  • Misuse the App

Upon termination, all rating data, profile data, and match history may be deleted or anonymized according to our Privacy Policy.

12. Intellectual Property

CourtMaster owns all:

  • Branding
  • Logos
  • UI/UX
  • Rating algorithms
  • Design elements
  • Software code
  • Documentation

You may not copy, resell, distribute, or exploit any part of the service beyond personal use.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • CourtMaster is not liable for inaccuracies in match results
  • CourtMaster is not responsible for disputes between players
  • CourtMaster is not liable for losses arising from errors, downtime, data loss, or rating changes
  • CourtMaster provides the service "as is" and "as available"

Your use of the App is at your own risk.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold CourtMaster harmless against claims arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your User Content
  • Breach of these Terms
  • Disputes with other users
  • Misuse or manipulation attempts

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece and the EU.

Any disputes will be resolved in Greek courts unless otherwise required by local consumer laws.

16. Changes to Terms of Service

We may update these Terms of Service at any time.

Continued use of CourtMaster after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms of Service.
